Bad mommy! I can't believe how long it's been since I've updated
CJ's site. I have a feeling that this will be the way it goes from now
on though. As he gets older and keeps me busier, his updates will get
further apart. But never worry, there will still always be updates. Our
little guy now has 4 teeth total and is working on a couple more on the
top. He is such a joy and has a very cute personality. He's very much
a ham and loves to get a laugh from anyone and everyone. He flirts too.
I think he gets that from daddy. Daddy has been going to school in Vancouver
during the week since the beginning of November, so CJ and I spend a lot
of time alone and see Daddy on the weekends. Daddy is home for the winter
break now and will go back on January 5. CJ gets tons of attention wherever
we go and is just so full of life!! We hear all the time how "cute"
or "adorable" he is. And of course he's spoiled rotten. LOL!
Oh well, we're allowed, I guess.
October 12, 2003
It's already been 8 months!! I can't believe how fast time flies.
He turned 8 months old today! He's into everything, still only has 2 bottom
teeth and laughs and smiles all the time. He knows mommy & daddy and
if you say "Where's mommy?" or "Where's daddy?" he'll
look around the room till he finds the one we're asking about. It's really
cute. He also is better at listening to us when we say no. He jabbers
all the time. A couple of days ago he held out his hand and opened and
closed his fist like he was waving. It was soooo cute!! He doesn't do
it often so it was probably just a fluke, him testing out his reflexes
or something but we still try to get him to do it whenever we can. He
crawls so fast it's unbelievable. And he follows us around everywhere.
He also loves me to say "I'm going to get you" and chase after
him. He laughs and giggles whenever we do that. Anyway, he's wonderful
and it's so fun to share all his new discoveries with him.
September 19, 2003
Well he's 7 months old and what a joy! I feel like I laugh all
the time! He's so much fun and is so good natured, until he is hungry
or tired (LOL!). But hey, I'm not much fun when I'm hungry or tired either.
He finally got his two bottom teeth. That was tough going for awhile,
but now he has them and they're sooo cute! Who would've ever thought that
teeth were cute? Well they are! And he likes to bite me if I give him
my finger to suck on. So I guess I won't be doing THAT anymore! OUCH!
We took him to Sears for some professional portraits. A couple of them
turned out good but overall we weren't that impressed. So I just prefer
to take our own photos and not spend the money on fancy schmancy stuff.
CJ crawls everywhere and likes to pull himself to a standing position
on anything & everything. He's had his share of falls, bumps &
bruises and it's really hard to not go rushing to him everytime he falls
down. But he's a pretty sturdy little guy. Anyway, I just love our little
guy and am so happy he came into our life!
August 24, 2003
Yikes! My how time flies and gets away from me! Two whole months
since I've updated the site. But of course I had a good excuse since we
were gone the entire month of July. I have to say that CJ did very well
for such a long vacation. He was exhausted when we got home though and
I'm happy to say is now back into somewhat of a routine. The last few
days have been a bit difficult because we think he's teething. He doesn't
want to eat very much, cries like he's in pain and if he's not crying
he's whining. We're trying Teething tablets and Tylenol of course and
it seems to help a bit. It looks like maybe his two bottom teeth are trying
to pop up together but he doesn't let us get too close to touch them and
look at them before he starts throwing a fit. He also had a phase where
he would just scream at the top of his lungs. We are very glad this only
lasted for a few days. Now he just babbles all the time with DADADADA
and GAGAGA and it's so cute. He gets around pretty well and gets himself
into a sitting position when he's laying down which is really cool. He
definitely likes sitting up and moving around and gets frustrated when
he can't do it when he wants to. He associates his bottle with going to
sleep now too, so he's been fighting us on drinking that. He's been a
bit of a challenge the past few days, but I'm sure it'll get better once
those teeth come through. Basically we love our life with CJ. He's so
awesome and we love to watch him grow and learn and do new things everyday.
Being a mommy is great!!
June 22, 2003
It's been another month already and what a busy month it's been.
CJ spent time with his Grams and Grampa Lloyd as well as Mamie and Papie
from Montreal. He loved all the attention that's for sure!! At his last
doctor's appointment he got his 4 month shots and has finally doubled
his birth weight (14lbs 2 oz). Yea!! He's teething and grabs everything
now and of course once in his hand, it goes straight for his mouth! He
keeps us on our toes with that! And the biggest news...he's now eating
SOLIDS!! Yes we started him on solids about 3 weeks ago and he's a champ.
You'd think he'd been doing it all along. He has oats at night and rice
in the morning and he loves it!! Occasionally he'll be in a really good
mood and blow bubbles when we feed him. That of course causes the cereal
to go EVERYWHERE and we have a very fun time cleaning that up. LOL! He
has discovered his feet and toes, and rolled over for the very first time
last weekend!! He rolled from back to front first, then got mad because
he was on his tummy and rolled right back to his back. He's not doing
this often yet, but he has at least discovered it. Now when we put him
on his tummy he pretty much gets himself onto his back as quickly as possible.
He absolutely LOVES his Jolly Jumper and has all kinds of fun showing
us how high he can jump. So, needless to say, it's been quite the month
of firsts and we LOVE our little guy to death. He's really getting to
be a lot of fun now and very interactive, smiling and laughing and giggling
a LOT. Since he's been on solids, his tummy problems seem to have diminished
a bit more as well. He sleeps every night from about 8pm to 5:30am. Can't
say that we like getting up at 5:30 but hey at least he's sleeping for
long stretches. He's a cat napper during the day, though, with 30 minutes
being his usual length of time. Occasionally we will be blessed on a good
day with him taking a 2 hour nap, but this is pretty rare.
May 24, 2003
Good Grief! Time flies! I can't believe it takes me forever to
get things posted on here. Well, I redid the website completely as you
can tell. That took some time. I'm trying some new stuff I've learned
and this is a great site to test it out on. So if anyone has any problems
with stuff, be sure to let me know. I have to say I LOVE being a mommy.
Pierre bought me a beautiful locket where I keep pictures of my adorable
little CJ and show him off whenever I can. He laughs and is just a joy...most
of the time. He still has his moments when he chooses to be difficult.
But that's par for the course. He's beginning to show an interest in toys,
which is nice since we're going on a HUGE trip in July to Halifax and
Montreal. He'll need lots of toys to keep him entertained. Yikes!! CJ
gets to meets both his grandmothers this month and we're really excited
about that. By the end of the summer he will have met so many new people,
his head will be spinning. I'll post pictures of the visits as soon as
I can. It's hard holding a baby and trying to do a web page. :)
April 27, 2003
It's been almost a month since my last entry. Where the heck does time
go? It's amazing how much time a baby takes up and the days are gone before
you know it and then weeks have gone by. I'm enjoying being a mommy though.
And I love CJ more and more with every day that goes by. He now sleeps
through the night. We have him on a 4-hour schedule and give him his last
feeding at 10pm and he sleeps till 6am. That's really been nice for a
change. He had his 2 month shots at his last appointment and was a real
trooper. He weighed in at 11 1/2 pounds and is in the 50th percentile
for his age, so we call him Mr. Average. Then last Wednesday we had to
take him in for some tests for reflux and blood test for milk allergies.
We're trying to find out how we can help him to feel better. It turns
out he does have reflux and we'll get the results of the rest of the tests
when we see the doctor this Friday. Hopefully this means we can get things
under control for the little guy and get him feeling good all the time.
He's so much fun when he feels good and life is so miserable when he's
miserable. When he had the upper GI xrays to test for reflux, he was an
absolute ANGEL baby. I was like, who ARE you and what have you done with
CJ. He never cried and went without food for about 6 hours. It was awesome!
Days like that are few and far between but when they happen they make
it all worthwhile. He is becoming much more aware of what's going on around
him and has started really enjoying his Baby Bach, Baby Beethoven and
Baby Neptune tapes. He's still not much into toys but I hope that changes
soon. Entertaining him is a bit challenging since he gets bored so quickly.
That's why we go out a lot. He likes the new surroundings.
March 30, 2003
It's hard to believe he's already 6 1/2 weeks old. He gets his first shots
next Friday...yikes...I don't think he's going to like that. We've switched
him to a cheaper formula which he's doing fine on. Other than having a
tiny cold the last couple of days, he's doing really well. He has fussy
days and not so fussy days and from what everyone tells me, the fussiness
should start to subside after 8 weeks...so we're getting close. We have
so much fun buying him clothes and taking him out and about. The weather
has been pretty nice, so we've been going out a lot. That's probably why
he got a cold. <sigh> Oh well. What are ya gonna do? We aren't getting
much sleep still. I do the night shift and Pierre does the morning shift.
And during the day we're lucky if he sleeps at all. He's so wide awake
and alert and if he falls asleep he might miss something, so he wakes
himself right back up. This could also be contributing to his fussiness...the
guy is just tired! We just love our little guy to death. He "talks"
to us quite a bit now with cute little sounds and gurgling noises. He
watches some of the Baby Einstein tapes though he loses interest a little
fast. He's still a bit young for that. Other than that he's just a healthy
eating, sleeping, pooping machine. LOL! He weighs in at just over 10 pounds,
so that's 3 pounds he's gained since birth.
March 17, 2003
Everyone was right. It DOES get better. Each day seems to be a bit easier,
although some days are harder than others. We're still very sleep deprived
and don't have much of a schedule lately. But on the new formula, CJ has
seemed to calm down a bit and feel a bit better, as you can see by the
smiling pictures on the photo album pages. Now if we could just get him
to sleep. He fights it tooth and nail...he will just be drifting off and
then wakes himself up all upset because we were letting him fall asleep.
He refuses to sleep in his crib during the day but we have no problem
with him sleeping there at night. So he sleeps in his swing or his bouncy
chair or in his carseat. We go out often and he loves that. It's the only
time we know for sure he'll fall asleep. The smiles and coos are worth
any trouble we have though. I was suffering a bit of post partum depression
but seem to have that a bit more under control now. Everything else is
healing well and I'm beginning to really get into the "mommy"
thing. It's a nice feeling when your baby is fussing and when you hold
him in your arms he stops and puts his head on your shoulder and his little
arms around your neck...<sigh> that's just the best!
March 5, 2003
Well it's been a LONG 2 weeks since we've been home from the hospital
and we're having a bit of a time adjusting. I have a new respect for mommies
and daddies everywhere!! What a job. CJ has a bit of an upset tummy so
we're still trying to find the right formula for him. I think we are going
to have to buy stock in Ovol, which is helping somewhat. But it makes
for a very fussy baby and one who doesn't like to be put down much. Yikes!
Guess he's already got us wrapped around his finger at just 3 weeks old.
He's already 9 lbs 2 oz!! He's gaining weight by leaps and bounds. He
must want to catch up to mommy & daddy pretty badly. He likes to stay
awake for most of the day now. I guess he thinks he might miss something
otherwise. And just when he falls asleep and we think of putting him down,
he'll open one eye just to check and make sure we're still holding him.
And if we're not...well we do hear about it. LOL! <sigh> Everyone
says it gets better, so hopefully they're right. We love the little guy
of course. And all his little noises are so cute, except the screaming.
We're really looking forward to getting some sleep again someday and can
hardly wait till he starts to smile. He's getting pretty close, although
that could just be gas. :)
February 21, 2003
We've been home for one day now. By now you've probably read the birth
stories and the horror I went through to bring this little guy into the
world, but of course it was all worth it. He's wonderful and special and
it's amazing how much your world can change in just a short while. Today
has been a bit hard for me at first. I was a bit weepy. My hormones have
really been raging lately. But Pierre was great, he's been so supportive
and awesome through all of this! And lo and behold we actually got Alex
to finally latch on and breastfeed for a little while, which was totally
cool. So maybe there's hope after all. We're both exhausted of course.
Last night was interesting and I'm sure tonight will be more so as we
all get adjusted to new schedules and warming bottles and pumping breastmilk
etc etc. At any rate, we'll keep you posted as our little guy grows and
does all sorts of cute and wonderful new things. He already loves to hold
his up and look around at his surroundings. I have to say a HUGE thanks
to my mom for her help and support just before the birth and through the
labour and beyond. THANKS MOM...you're the best! And of course my wonderful
husband is the most awesome person in the world!! This whole experience
has really made me appreciate him a whole bunch more! :) And thanks to
all our friends and family for their support and emails and phone calls
and best wishes as we went through our ordeal. You guys are the best!
February 6, 2003
Well it's one day before my due date and still NOTHING! GRRRR! I am still
at 1 cm, 90% and -1. Wishful thinking just doesn't get it done I guess.
Grams arrived today at 4:15pm so this little guy can just come whenever
the heck he wants to....we're all hoping it's very soon. If it's not by
next Thursday then I'll have an ultrasound and non-stress test to determine
amniotic fluid levels and see how he's doing. I guess the good news at
this point is that there's no way I'll go past the 17th. They'd induce
me before then. Send lots of labor fairy dust our way to get this show
on the road!!
January 31, 2003
39 weeks, still 1cm dilated, 90% effaced and baby is at a -1 station.
I went in to the hospital for a non-stress test on little Alex and everything
seems to be just fine with him. It's getting very hard to walk because
he is so low and there is so much pressure on my pelvis. Feels like I'm
splitting open sometimes...yikes! So anyway, the doctor could not make
any predictions on when I would deliver. Could be any time, could go past
my due date. So at this point, it's just a waiting game. Keep your fingers
crossed for me that it's soon. I'm VERY ready for this little guy to make
his entrance and give my tummy a rest! LOL. :)
January 24, 2003
Yea! Progress! I'm 38 weeks today and am 1cm dilated and 75% effaced.
I'm feeling a lot more pain and pressure and lots of cramping so it could
be soon or it could still be a couple weeks...who knows? My heartburn
is finally under control and other than the pain, I'm feeling ok. I've
been so busy working that I haven't really had time to dwell on the fact
that I am actually going to be having a baby in a few days time. YIKES!
It's a bit scary to think about right now. There's no going back. It's
going to come out no matter what. It's amazing how you can put that out
of your mind when you really want to. But then it hits you like a runaway
train and it's a very scary thought. Now we just need to get daddy feeling
better. He's been pretty sick and of course the timing couldn't be worse.
So we're hoping he feels better soon. Little Alex moves around quite a
bit these days...I think he's trying to get comfy. But he never kicks
very hard or hurts...he's a pretty calm little guy. I hope that's indicative
of how he'll be once he arrives.
January 10, 2003
I'm 36 weeks today, which means 4 more weeks to go if I go full term.
I had my doctor's appointment today and she said I'm about 50% effaced
but haven't started dilating yet. The baby also hasn't dropped very far
down yet, although I find that hard to believe since it feels like his
head is resting on my bladder and it's getting extremely hard to even
walk around these days. My feet are swelling up like balloons and I was
told by the doctor to stop working so much. I only have a few more projects
to finish up before I can really take her advice and start resting more.
At least my blood pressure is good. Heartburn still isn't so good, in
fact has gotten worse so she gave me some strong stuff for that. I didn't
gain any weight the last 2 weeks, probably because of the heartburn thing
and me not wanting to eat much. I now go in every single week until my
due date. It's getting so close now and Pierre & I are both so excited
to welcome little Alex to the family. We're looking forward to Grams coming
up and helping us out for the first few days as well. I think we have
pretty much gotten everything we really needed and bags are packed and
ready to go. We're in the home stretch! :)
December 19, 2002
Well only 7 more weeks to go. We can hardly wait. We had my cousin Kathy
and her little 5 month old, Aidan, with us for a few days and it really
gave us a good idea of what to expect when little Alex arrives. It was
great and Aidan is such a cutie! Alex is moving around quite a lot these
days, usually right about bedtime. I think the prenatal vitamin revs up
his engine or something. I'm up to 14 pounds gained. Still trying to keep
it under 20 for the whole pregnancy. We've bought just about everything
we need at this point plus Kathy brought a ton of Aidan's hand-me-downs
which was great! Also a big thanks to Pierre's mom, Gaetane, for the wonderful
baby gift basket full of great things for baby Alex. What a nice surprise
that was. My French classes are done, our prenatal classes are done. Now
I just have to finish some website work and then I can veg until this
little guy arrives. At last!
December 3, 2002
I've discovered a new meaning for the word "MISERABLE." And
I still have 9 weeks to go. I'll be 31 weeks on Friday. I now visit the
doctor every 2 weeks and the last visit I gained 4 WHOLE POUNDS, which
brings my total to 13!! So much for wanting to keep it at 10. At this
rate I'll be lucky to keep it around 20. Oh well. C'est la vie. I've been
SO busy working that I haven't concentrated much on the pregnancy, but
I now have to cut down on that due to doctor's orders. When I sit at the
computer all day my ankles swell up like balloons and it gets VERY uncomfortable.
Plus I'm now on iron pills as a supplement to the prenatal vitamins because
I guess my iron levels were pretty low. Other than that, everything is
going great! LOL! He kicks and moves all the time which is cool but he's
not OVERLY active. I think he'll be a pretty mellow baby. And the doctor
said at the last visit that he had moved and was head down now. Of course
there's still plenty of time for him to move again, although there doesn't
seem to be much space for him to do so, so we will see.
November 18, 2002
Well there's not much new to report but I thought I'd better catch up
with an entry here anyway, so as not to get any angry emails from anyone.
I did take my glucose tolerance test (GTT) last Tuesday and found out
on Friday that everything came back fine. Woohooo! I'm really glad for
that because if you fail the 1 hour test then you have to do a 3 hour
test and that would not have been fun at all. So I guess it's safe to
say that I'll not have to suffer the effects of gestational diabetes for
this pregnancy....a big PLUS! Little Alex seems to like to do flips in
my tummy quite a bit these days or else he can't find a comfortable position.
Funny, neither can I! Sleeping is getting to be quite the chore, with
much tossing & turning. Pierre & I can't believe how fast this
last part is going so far. We're both so busy with work and stuff that
we're hoping Alex isn't early so we'll have time to get everything done
before he gets here. We finished our Childbirth Classes....learned how
to pant and breathe. Will probably forget all that by February. LOL! And
now we start our Prenatal Classes next Monday night. There's not much
else to report for now but I'll keep the diary updated if anything of
note should occur.
November 8, 2002
Had my doctor's appointment today and so far so good. I have gained a
total of 9 lbs through 6 months. I go for my glucose test next week, oh
goody! :) My uterus is measuring 26cm which is perfect, the doctor says,
and Alex's heartbeat is loud and strong. We still can't tell which position
the little guy is in, but I think he's breech because I feel all his kicks
pretty low. I go back in 3 weeks for another checkup and then I think
it switches to every 2 weeks. Personally I can't believe I still have
3 months left and these are the LONG 3 months too! So I just need to hang
in there. I bought a couple more cute outfits for Alex and a new teddy
bear of course.
November 2, 2002
Big news first: we finally decided on a name (as you can tell from the
website)!! We went with Alex Jordan, aka "AJ" and we're both
pretty happy with it. It's nice to be able to have that decision out of
the way and one we could both agree on.
Well we took another belly shot today and wow what a difference! I knew
I was getting way bigger, just from feeling all the stretching going on,
but it's cool to compare photos. This guy is moving quite a bit these
days and it's fun to watch him wiggle.
We took a tour of the hospital last Tuesday to get a feel for things.
Victoria General is unfortunately a bit outdated for my tastes but I guess
it'll have to do. We also went out yesterday and bought our first package
(huge package) of diapers from Costco. LOL! Thought we'd better start
stocking up on that kind of stuff now. We also got a couple more things
for the nursery and some books we can read to Alex. You can check out
the updated nursery photos here.
I'm still suffering from heartburn and headaches and last night woke
up with lots of pain thinking I was having contractions. But they went
away and all was ok. Prelude for the big event I guess. I have my next
dr's appointment on Friday, the 8th, and also officially enter the 3rd
trimester on that day. We'll see how much weight I've gained then, but
since my appetite has come back with a vengeance, I have a feeling it
could be a bit more than I've gained in the past.
October 20, 2002
Wow! The little guy is kicking up a storm the past 2 days. It's funny
to watch my stomach move in little bursts as he moves around and kicks
and gets the hiccups. Makes me laugh. Pierre can see it too which is cool.
He seems to like it after I eat and I tried the music and headphones on
the tummy routine which he seemed to like as well. I'm craving sweets
almost all the time. Which can't be good for the weight gain thing. I
really have to watch that.
We started our childbirth classes on Tuesday the 15th. There are 12 couples
total so it's a large group. We saw a video the first night and YIKES...is
it too late to change my mind on this whole thing?? LOL!
We've purchased a few more outfits which I couldn't resist. His drawer
is beginning to look a bit more full though we really need more sleepers
I think and blankets and stuff. We did buy a bassinet/cradle/swing thing
which should be good so he can sleep in our room the first few nights
if need be and so I can watch him while I work during the day.
The time seems to be going a bit faster now than it did in the beginning.
Plus it's great to actually feel the little guy all the time. We still
can't decide on a name and are thinking of starting completely over on
that one. Grrrr! And other than my frustration at not being able to sleep
because of Pierre's snoring, things are going really well. (Sorry P)
October 8, 2002
Ok, he's kicked me enough now to remind me to write in this diary!! LOL!
Actually I am feeling much more movement from the little guy. And it's
cool to see my stomach rock and roll with him. It's truly amazing there's
a little baby in there. At our last doctor's appointment on the 4th, I
had officially gained 4 lbs. My complaints are the heartburn, which is
almost constant, and the migraines I'm getting about every 3-4 days. 4
more months of this to go? Yikes! We have almost finished his nursery,
though I don't have any new pictures just yet. We bought his change table/dresser
as well as a glider and ottoman which I find extremely comfortable. Other
than that, there's not much new to tell. We're just getting excited to
meet our little guy and start showing him the sites in Victoria.
Our only dilemma seems to be the name. We've pretty much decided against
Connor at this point in time, mainly because every time we go anywhere,
we hear parents yelling at their little boys and saying "Connor!
Connor!" LOL! So it's a bit too common around here. We're leaning
towards Alec Charles Jordan with CJ as a nickname but haven't decided
for sure. We are extremely surprised on the name poll at how well Jonathan
Charles is doing, so we're giving that some thought as well.
September 21, 2002
Today I added some photos to the site including what we've done so far
to the nursery and some of the clothes we've gotten so far that I think
are kinda cute. I also added a couple more of the ultrasound photos we
had taken a couple of weeks ago after looking at them again and finding
a couple more I liked. I bought my first maternity clothes today also.
Ouch...those are expensive. But at least now maybe I can start "looking"
a bit more pregnant. I hit the halfway mark yesterday and couldn't be
more thrilled. Only 4 1/2 more months to go!
I also have to add a couple of funny stories, though I fear by adding
them here that I'm just asking for teasing from my dear sweet husband
and people who know me best. But I'll be brave and here goes. I have PROOF
that women lose brain cells during pregnancy. My first experience with
this was last week when a friend mailed a joke to me: A blonde went to
the library and got a book on "How to Hug", then realized when
she got it home that it was actually Volume 7 of the Encyclopedia. I read
the joke and said (unfortunately loud enough for Pierre to hear), "I
don't get it." DUHHHH!!!!! I got it the minute I said it of course.
My second experience with my lack of brain cells came earlier this week
when we were watching a quiz show on TV and the question was "What
kind of tree does maple syrup come from?" Without even a second thought,
I said it was an oak tree. (Slapping my head against a VERY hard wall
at this point.)
My third experience with "brain-cell-missing-itis" was today
when I was to meet a friend for lunch. I took a $10 bill from Pierre's
wallet to put into mine so I could pay cash for the lunch. Then I proceeded
to leave my wallet OUTSIDE my purse on the counter and go off to lunch.
Needless to say, it was just a TAD embarrassing when it came time to pay
the bill and I had no wallet, no cash, no nothing!!! Thank goodness I
didn't also get stopped by a policeman or something. That would've been
a fun one to explain away.
So anyway, I'm hoping my brain cells decide to turn up soon. Otherwise
who knows what may happen. LOL!
September 18, 2002
Not much to report really but I figured I'd better record an entry in
this journal since dear daddy thinks I'm neglecting it. :-) I've been
feeling pretty good with one exception...stretching ligamentssssss .....
OUCH!! LOL! That can get pretty uncomfortable. I'm beginning to feel quite
a few more kicks and more movement out of this little guy. My heartburn
has still been there as well as frequent headaches. But hey, other than
that, it's great! Haha! Is it February yet? We are starting our prenatal
classes on October 15. Oh and some great news....Grams bought our little
baby his new crib! What a jewel she is! Thanks Grams for that very generous
gift. So we took last weekend and began decorating the nursery with the
blue jean teddy bear theme that we're working on. It's actually quite
cute and we love going by the room and just staring in there picturing
a little baby in the not too distant future. As of Friday, I'm officially
halfway there, 20 weeks! Woohooo! Only 20 more to go. Yikes! So that's
all for now. I'll try and be a bit better about keeping a journal here.
Ciao!

Today we had our 2nd, and probably final ultrasound (unless the baby is
overdue). Unfortunately he didn't feel much like cooperating today and
was asleep during most of it. He was lying on his tummy with his hands
behind his neck and his knees folded under him. He didn't want to roll
over or anything. So we didn't get any real good shots. The good news
however is that he's measuring right where he should be and everything
looks great. He weighs about 1/2 a pound and is about 8" long.

Today I made a website for our new little baby boy. Now that we know he's
healthy and a boy, I thought it would be fun to record my thoughts here
as I go through the rest of my pregnancy. To bring it up-to-date, we found
out we were pregnant on June 3, 2002. We heard the heartbeat for the first
time on July 12 at 10 weeks. We had an amnio done on August 19 and got
the results back on September 6 that everything is great! We also had
our first ultrasound on the 19th and the pictures are on the ultrasound
page. I have been feeling small movements for a couple of weeks now and
Pierre felt the baby for the first time last Friday on August 30. I haven't
gained any weight so far and am almost halfway through. I hope I can keep
that up! I have not been all that hungry. Food usually doesn't sound good
and I have to force myself to eat. Although I have not had any morning
sickness or anything, I do get heartburn a lot. We made our first big
purchase a week and a half ago and bought an Evenflo Travel System/Stroller/Car
Seat/Infant Carrier. 1 big purchase down....a thousand more to go. LOL!
We have purchased a couple of teddy bears, and a few sleepers, the first
blue one was purchased yesterday after we found out it was a boy. We are
looking forward to our 2nd and probably last ultrasound at 18 weeks 3
days on Monday, September 9. I'll post more ultrasound pictures after
that. So far so good.
